Hello family!!

It's Bible study time! Grab your Bible with me and open to the book of Acts 3.

Are you ready? Let's gooo!

Who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms...so he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them.-Acts 3:3, 5 NKJV.

This is the story of a lame man who laid at the temple to beg for alms. On seeing Peter and John, he asked them for alms. He did not know that they had power to actually get him out of his lame state which is worth more than any amount of money.

He did not discern that his hour of healing had come and these people were not ordinary. To the lame man, that was just another day but to God, that was his day of deliverance.

In our lives, God sends people and opportunities our way to help our situations but we've gotten used to a "routine" of lies, betrayals and hurt that we classify a God-sent opportunity or person as one of the rest. Not everyone is out there to tear you down, not everyone is seeking your downfall.

Peter said, "look at us" (Acts 3:4b)

Then Peter said, ‘Silver and gold have I none but such as I have I give thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.- Acts 3:6

These God-sent people may not look like it. They may not be rich, smart or good-looking but they are answers to prayers.

As children of God we must be conscious of the fact that our Father is always loading us with benefits daily.

We must wait in expectation and not get used to a routine way of doing things and living life. We must open our eyes to Johns and Peters everyday who might not necessarily be human beings but opportunities too. They can be pastors, friends, family, mentors, teachers or complete strangers. They can also be a new leadership role, a job interview or an invitation to a church program.

Our job is to treat every person with respect and honour. We must refuse to become like the lame man who was so stuck in the present that he could not see the possibility of a better future.

Peter said, "look at us" (Acts 3:4).

This is call to every believer to look at that friend, to look at the day, to look at the opportunity not with your eyes but with Gods eyes. Discern it and figure out exactly what it is.

At the beginning of every year, we have big goals and expectations but as time goes by we forget and become used to the routine. Today, I urge you to be look at life differently each morning. To look at each day as a gift from God.

Refuse to accept the routine. Be expectant.
