EAT FOR THE JOURNEY IS LONG

Have you been eating?

Yes, that sounds like a dumb question but seriously, have you been eating? And have you been eating well?

By now, you’ve probably figured that I’m speaking metaphorically. Have you been feeding on the food of the Word? It’s so easy to become so immersed in the activities of daily living that we sometimes forget to schedule a time to study the Word.

Just as physical food is essential to growth so is the spiritual food of the Word.

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the Word so that you may grow thereby- 1 Peter 2:2

Growth takes place when you feed on the Word.

The rising cost of living, rampant atrocities and depleting morality are all signs that we need to be fully armed for the days ahead.

In the coming days, your survival will depend on how knowledgeable you are of your privileges in Christ and your partnership with Him.

Then the angel of the Lord came again a second time and said, “Get up and eat for the journey is too long for you [without adequate sustenance]- 1 Kings 19:7 AMP

This post is a reminder from one sibling in Christ to another encouraging him/her to invest time into the study of the scriptures.

God has also inspired men and women to write books on almost any topic imaginable. As you spend time reading the Holy Scriptures, invest some time to also read books on topics you consider crucial to your growth.

You cannot afford to be ignorant. Ignorance is expensive.

Create a meal plan consistent with where you see yourself. Read, learn, do!

This is my little piece of advice for you as we wrap up the first half of the year. Be intentional with your growth. Morph into a better version of yourself spiritually, physically and emotionally. Commit to the discipline of reading and studying. Nourish your spirit and mind consistently.

A special category has been created for Bible study, there’ll be a post once every month on that subject. You don’t have to navigate this alone, let’s grow together, shall we?
