THE GOD ALGORITHM 2- THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED

Well I'm back with an update.


However intentional you are about making sure you're operating on a positive feedback mechanism of godly thinking, I hate to break it to you that the devil has rigged the system. He has never been a gentleman who minds his business, he does not play fair.

He's always lurking, looking for an opportunity to rear his head in any situation.

Sometimes it's not even him. Your old habits, fears and struggles are voices speaking things contrary to what God says.


Going back to the algorithm, here is an illustration of how the social media algorithm can be “rigged”.


1.Say you're on Instagram, you've intentionally curated your "for you page" in such a way that only the things you like show up there. You've nurtured your community there that everyone knows what you stand for. But haven't you had an occasion where you were randomly scrolling then stumbled on one reel or post and had to ask yourself “how did I get here?”.


Yes, your algorithm will keep recommending things you've previously liked but sometimes, it tests the waters by introducing you to new content too.

By clicking this mixed signal, you're telling the algorithm that you don't mind, they should keep it coming.


Same applies to us humans in our thoughts. You might be the most optimistic and bubbliest of all men but one day, you might see yourself spiraling into a pit of despair you didn't see coming. Or struggling with issues you didn't have before.


We've talked about thinking godly thoughts in the part 1, the question for this part 2 is how do you handle it when you've been thrown into a thought process that is antagonistic to God's Words although you are operating on a God algorithm.


The antidote is clicking the “not interested in this post” feature. Social media sites have options for us. You can click on the three dots at the top (or bottom or wherever it is) and click on

"NOT INTERESTED IN THIS POST"

"DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CHANNEL"


You can also mute and block the original poster of that tweet or post.

By “muting”, you are telling this person that I do not want you to keep speaking into my mind now.

By “blocking”, you are making sure that this person does not have the opportunity to speak again.


I'd liken the options these sites give us to us having free will. We actually get to decide if we would move along this new path or retrace our steps to our original path.


Bad thoughts, unhealthy ideas and unclean suggestions may find their way into your head but it your responsibility to tell it that you're not interested. To block and to mute.


So Juliana, I have muted and blocked that thought. Is that all?


No, that's only half the work.


After catching that thought in it's tracks, we have to replace it with it's greater opposite from the Kingdom of light.

Just muting and blocking will only give you a home page that has no personality, a mind that has no convictions of its own. Knowing what it does not want but unable to articulate what it stands for.


You have to replace the chaff with wheat, the dross with substance. And that is the Word of God.


In social media spheres, you just don't click “not interested” and walk away. You engage with what you actually like. So you give christian content a ♥️, you ✈️ (share) uplifting content, you leave a 🗨️ on that educational post.

The algorithm then goes, “oh we kinda forgot that this is what she likes”.


This is akin to you engaging in your christian disciplines. Praying, fasting, fellowshipping, memorizing and confessing the Word, filling yourself with the mind of Christ. You're telling your algorithm (psst…your mind) that this is the kind of content (thinking) I'm interested in.


We require more than just the blamelessness of doves to navigate life, we need the shrewdness of the serpent.

Your spiritual antennas should always be on high alert to spot his tricks and schemes and thanks be to God who never leaves His children at a disadvantage.


So if you have in some way been following a mixed signal, this is your sign to get back to the right signal. This is a sign to purify your stream of thought. To go back to the whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy (Philipians 4:8) kind of life.

It's not too late to tell pursue an algorithm overhaul.


With God, everyday is a good day to make things right.
