DAY 12: HOPE ONE MORE TIME

It's very interesting to have a favourite blog post when every single one has been a personal blessing. But I figured that today will be a good day to highlight a quality that was the sum of my 2025.

My favourite blog post of the year has to be "Praying like Elijah", you can read that here; https://julianaofjehovah.wixsite.com/website-1/post/praying-like-elijah-waiting-well

It was something I had studied weeks prior and had little to no intention of sharing but had to because of some reasons.

It's very special to me because it teaches hope. It is no coincidence that the first sermon I listened to in 2025 was Jackie Hill Perry’s “a defense of hope”. God knew I needed it lol.

If there's a slight chance that something might fail, it seems valid to adopt a nonchalant attitude rather than to get invested and see your hopes dashed. Nonchalance (“I don't care” attitude) especially about something God has said is not something I recommend. God's work requires haste, urgency and an investment of emotions, hope included.

The absence of hope affects the way we pray. You treat what God has said like it is a second option, a backup plan.

But like Elijah, I have learnt to check the clouds one more time for a sign of rain. To trust the Word of God more than situations. Like Elijah, I have learnt to stay until I see a performance. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9 that we should not be tired in well doing for we will reap in due season if we don't give up. And while I hope and wait, I will do my very best where I'm at.

No matter how many times things fail, I will dust myself and try again.

Above earthly hope is the living hope Christ’s death has given us.

1 Peter 1:3-4 NIV

[3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you,

My ultimate hope is that if all earthly plans fail, I still have an imperishable inheritance waiting for me in the land where my hope becomes my reality.

In 2026, hope one more time, my friend.

God will do it.

Dear Cloud of Witnesses, Your stories are different from mine. You all went through dark times but you came out strong. I know some of you had my issues but you prevailed. It was the same God whose st
